Great Bend Fire Department

 

Firefighters made three ambulance on Wednesday. At 9:08 p.m., they responded to arcing wires on a service entrance at 1017 ½ Odell. Power was shut off and the electric company was contacted.

 

Barton County Sheriff

On Wednesday a chain saw was reported missing from 361 SW 60 Road. It was the one found in Great Bend on Tuesday.

Theft of a toolbox and tools from a garage at 700 Main in Albert was reported Wednesday.

A large box containing miscellaneous papers, including birth certificates, was found in a ditch on SE 20 Ave. Wednesday evening. The owner came to the sheriff’s office and picked up the paper.

 

Great Bend Police

Wednesday reports:

A known person allegedly stole money from Acme Scrap, 700 Frey St., by turning in false receipts.

A known person allegedly stole items from Walmart and was served a notice to appear in municipal court.

A case was opened on an alleged burglary at the zoo.

A vehicle driven by William Wilcox was eastbound on 10th St. turning south into the Walmart parking lot at 8:37 p.m. Wednesday and struck a vehicle driven by George Riff.

A $30 gas skip by a motorist in a gray van at 2716 10th St. was reported at 9:34 p.m.
