Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Thursday. At 12:35 p.m. they responded to 1429 18th St. where a fire in some landscaping cedar chips had spread to the siding on the home. Estimated damage was $5,000.

 

Great Bend Police

Thursday reports:

A Philips Blu-ray player and Philips 40-inch TV were taken during a burglary at 1308 Morphy St.

Lawn equipment was taken during a burglary at 3101 Washington.

Money was stolen from a resident at 1560 K-96.

A vehicle driven by Leonor Vazquez was westbound on 19th St. at 3:20 p.m. and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Krystall Barnes that was stopped in traffic.

A man’s girlfriend took over her Facebook account and blocked his family from the account. The reporting party was advised to have the family contact Facebook.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Power was out in the city of Galatia at 3:13 a.m. Friday. A deputy and someone from Western Electric cecked poles from Olmitz to Galatia but found nothing. The power company was still in Galatia at 5 a.m.
