Great Bend Fire DepartmentFirefighters made six ambulance runs Friday, six Saturday and five Sunday.At 12:43 a.m. Sunday they were dispatched to the 200 block of Liberty Road for an illegal bonfire at a party. At 10:30 a.m. they were dispatched to 59 NW 50 Road to extinguish a burning trash can. Barton County SheriffA vehicle hit a deer on East K-4 and NE 40 Ave. at 7:03 a.m. Saturday, and another vehicle hit a deer on East K-4 and NE 20 Ave. at 8:47 a.m. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.Stop signs were down and posts broken in the area of SE 50 Road and SE 40 Ave., it was discovered Saturday.Great Bend PoliceFriday reports:A vehicle driven by Jeffery Compton was westbound on 12th St. at 7:42 a.m. Friday and struck a vehicle driven by Edgar Garcia, who was northbound on Holland.
