Barton County Sheriff

A known person allegedly drove into a garage door at 651 NW 20 Ave., it was reported Wednesday.

Two cars collided on NE 50 Road (North Washington St.) at U.S. 281 at 12:18 p.m. Wednesday. Kansas Highway Patrol and Great Bend Fire Department ambulance responded. However, KHP’s online crash logs show no injury accident in the county.

A vehicle hit a deer in the 1300 block of Susank Road at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made four ambulance runs on Wednesday. At 6:45 p.m. they responded to a ditch fire in the 700 block of West Barton County Road, caused by a broken drive line on a truck.

At 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, after the tenant at 2812 Gano St. put out a fire on the side of the residence, the property owner asked fighters to check the building.

Firefighters extinguished a fire at Acme Scrap, 700 Frey St., around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
