Great Bend Fire Department
Great Bend firefighters made five ambulance runs on Tuesday.
At 2:41 p.m. they responded to a possible vehicle fire at Broadway Ave. and Wilson St., when a woman reported her van started on fire as she was driving. Chief Mike Napolitano said no flames or smoke were showing; however, they did find some melted wires that were causing a smoke smell.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle driven by Dustin MacArthur hit a deer on K-96 and 110 Ave. at 7:30 a.m. Monday.
Theresa Medina reported she was driving and swerved to miss a deer in the 200 block of Liberty Road (SW 20 Road and SW 10 Ave.) around 2 a.m. Monday. The vehicle hit a fence. She lost her cell phone and reported the accident later in the morning.
A Pawnee Rock resident reported being the victim of identity theft. She tried to sign up for a service and found someone else had opened an account under her maiden name in June.
A vehicle driven by Bradley Demel struck a deer on NW 150 Road and the North Susan Blacktop at 8:14 p.m. Monday.
A vehicle hit a deer one mile west of Heizer on NW K-96 (near NW 70 Ave.) at 9:20 p.m. Monday.
A counterfeit bill was reportedly found on an individual who was brought to the Barton County Jail on a Great Bend arrest, at 5:54 a.m. Tuesday.

Theft of a debit card from 2006 Broadway Ave. was reported Monday.
An identity theft case was reported.
A $10 gas skip at 1221 10th St. was reported at 6:12 p.m. Monday.
Theft of a white, two-horse trailer with green windows from 620 Williams St. was reported Monday night.
A false writing and theft case at 4001 10th St. was reported Tuesday.
Unknown persons took a decal from a Dodge pickup parked at 1203 Main.
A shoplifter was reported at noon Tuesday at Dillon’s Store No. 3, 1811 Main. Loss was $10.
A $40 gas skip at 1315 10th St. was reported at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday.
Alleged criminal damage to property by a juvenile was reported Tuesday afternoon at a Broadway Ave. location.
Someone broke windows at 1809 Ninth St. and was apparently sleeping in the building, it was reported Tuesday. Loss was $100.
A burglary at 2722 19th St. was reported. Someone entered the house and took a computer and some change. Loss was $550.
