Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs Monday, three Tuesday and four Wednesday.
On Monday they went to 1206 Harding St. to check on light smoke in the house. The cause was a hot motor.
On Tuesday they responded to a possible gas leak at Third and Kiowa.
At 4 a.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to 6000 block of 16th St., and found a truck in flames. Damage was estimated at $20,000.
Great Bend Police
Someone cut the tire on a van and shot the windshield with a BB gun at 1560 K-96, it was reported Wednesday.
Someone forged a business check and tried to cash it at 1121 U.S. 281 Bypass on Wednesday.
At 2 a.m. on Thursday, a subject was seen breaking into a parked car at 5930 Eisenhower Court and then running away and getting into a dark colored Honda with a raised spoiler and leaving westbound on Eisenhower. An MP3 player was missing from the car.
Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer on NW 90 Road and North U.S. 281 at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
A motorist in a dark-colored extended cab pickup allegedly struck two other vehicles intentionally at the Barton Community College baseball parking lot, 245 NE 30 Road, and then left. This was reported at 3:21 a.m. Thursday.
