Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs Thursday, eight Friday, 10 Saturday and five Sunday.
At 10:11 a.m. Saturday they responded to 1630 Cherokee Road for a possible vehicle fire. Upon arrival they found no fire but some acid spillage on the battery.
At 4:38 p.m. Sunday they were dispatched to the river dike in the area of the 100 block for a grass fire. They were on scene for 1.5 hours extinguishing the fire and making sure all the hot spots were out.

Great Bend Police
A theft at 3910 Cedar Park Place was reported Friday.
A 2002 Ford Taurus driven by Wendy Dougherty was westbound on 10th St. at 2:38 p.m. Friday and struck a 2009 PT Cruiser driven by Rhonda McAnulla, who was making a left turn from Washington St.
An argument between subjects in the Love’s Travel Stop parking lot, 1221 10th St., was reported at 7:13 p.m. Saturday, with the possibility that a gun was involved. Officers searched for a silver Cadillac and a gray and green Dodge Intrepid, but didn’t find the vehicles.
A broken window at 2204 Kansas Ave. was reported.
Officers were notified of an alarm at Taylor Petroleum, 5200 10th St., at 10:42 p.m. Saturday. The glass door on the east side of the building had been shattered. Someone entered the building and stole tobacco products.
Two bows were stolen from a vehicle at 4200 10th St.
A man reported that his cell phone was stolen from his residence at 2409 Walnut Dr. on Friday during a party there.
A $46.66 gas skip at 1315 10th St. was reported at 2:07 p.m. Sunday. The suspect vehicle was a silver/gold passenger car.
A car at 800 Monroe St. was keyed, it was reported Sunday evening. Loss was estimated to be over $1,000.

Barton County Sheriff
On Friday morning, the sheriff’s office was notified that a known person was sleeping in the back seat of a vehicle at 1204 Susank Road, and that someone had gone through the vehicle the night before. Thomas Cooley, Wichita, said he was sleeping in the vehicle because his broke down the night before. He was arrested on outstanding warrants.
A Dodge Ram driven by Tess Gevara, Larned, was passing a postal van driven by Scott Clark, Hutchinson, in the 600 block of SW 70 Road at 9:47 a.m. Friday when the van made a left into the pickup. Minor injuries were reported and both drivers were checked by Emergency Medical Service put refused treatment.
Embezzlement by an employee at a rural Barton County business was reported Friday.
A 20-year-old woman sustained possible neck injury when she fell approximately six feet from a bench at 1171 SW 20 Road at 12:40 p.m. Friday.
A Barton County resident reported a possible phone scam Saturday morning. She said she participated in a survey and gave credit card information, agreeing to be charged $2.98 for shipping of items. She was told she’d won a prize, but after looking at reviews of the company on the Internet, became suspicious. She said she would pursue criminal charges if additional charges appear on her credit card.
Damage to a mailbox at 503 South Humbodlt Ave. Unit 16 was reported.
A burglary at 1354 SW 30 Road was reported Saturday. Someone broke into the residence and items were taken.
A Dodge Stratus hit a deer on North U.S. 281 near mile marker 108 at 8:17 p.m. Saturday.
A Ford Taurus hit a deer in the 300 block of SE 60 Ave. at 9:20 p.m.
A man was target shooting in rural Olmitz and was hit by stray pellets from the gun. He was at St. Rose Urgent Care at 8 p.m. Sunday.
