Great Bend Fire DepartmentFirefighters made five ambulance runs Thursday, eight Friday, 10 Saturday and five Sunday.At 10:11 a.m. Saturday they responded to 1630 Cherokee Road for a possible vehicle fire. Upon arrival they found no fire but some acid spillage on the battery.At 4:38 p.m. Sunday they were dispatched to the river dike in the area of the 100 block for a grass fire. They were on scene for 1.5 hours extinguishing the fire and making sure all the hot spots were out.
