Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Wednesday. At 11:48 a.m. they extinguished a car fire at 465 South U.S. 281. A 2009 Chevy Cobalt had fire in the dash area and smoke inside the passenger compartment. Damage was estimated at $1,500. The owner was reportedly changing a fuse when the fire was discovered under the dash.

Wednesday reports:
A forged check was written in the store at 1811 Main.
A BB hole was found in a window Friday night at 2514 Cheyenne Drive.
A vehicle driven by Libbie A. Olson was making a left turn from a private at 2:16 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Lloyd Deitsch Jr., who was northbound on McKinley St.
A vehicle driven by Barbara Nowak was southbound on Baker Ave. at 2:31 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Samantha Elsen, who was eastbound on Broadway.
A vehicle struck and damaged a concrete pylon on the west side of the building at 1905 19th St.
Theft of a debit card was reported.
A vehicle driven by Rebecca L. Carlson was eastbound on 10th St. at 5:27 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Dorothy M. Kopke making a right turn out of a private drive.
