Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs Thursday. At 1:05 p.m., they responded to a small fire in the ditch at 16th and U.S. 281 bypass.


Great Bend Police

Theft of two 24-inch Roadmaster bikes from 2011 30th St. was reported Thursday.

Theft of a wallet containing an unspecified amount of currency from 5824 16th St. Terrace was reported Thursday.

A vehicle driven by Nicholas Rose was westbound on 29th St. at 4:24 p.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Kimberly Heath, which was northbound on Morton St.

A burglary at 5210 10th St. was reported Thursday. Prescription medications were taken.


Barton County Sheriff

A burglary at the Dartmouth sand pit, 55 SE 60 Ave., was reported Thursday.

A dog that was accidentally shut into a vehicle on NW 10 Ave. without the owner’s knowledge died of heat exhaustion on Thursday.
