Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs last Wednesday, three  Thursday, two Friday, three Saturday, two Sunday and eight Monday.
At 10:46 a.m. Wednesday they responded to the 2800 block of Williams St. for power lines arcing.
At 6:46 a.m. Thursday they responded to 12th and Morton where they found a pickup that had some items in the bed that were smoldering.
At 12:58 p.m. Saturday they responded to 517 Kiowa for a camper on fire. They found a fifth-wheel camper with smoke coming from a top vent, and located the fire behind the refrigerator. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
At 6:09 p.m. Saturday they extinguished some trash burning at the county landfill.

Barton County Sheriff
On the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 29, a silver jeep was found behind some bales at NE 150 Road and NE 10 Ave. The owner came to get the vehicle and discovered it was out of gas. He also reported theft of a paintball gun and deer cams from his residence, 103 Union, Susank.
A vehicle hit a deer on South U.S. 281 and SE 60 Road at 8:46 a.m. Wednesday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
Two stands of barb wire on a fence in the 600 block of SE 20 Road were cut some time between April and July.
A vehicle hit a deer in the 500 block of NE 110 Ave. at 7:14 p.m. Wednesday.
A vehicle hit a deer at NE 10 Ave. and East K-4 (one mile east of Hoisington on K-4) at 7 a.m. Thursday.
A Toyota Camry hit a deer on NE K-156, between the Ellinwood turnoff and Claflin, at 8:37 p.m. Thursday. KHP responded.
A vehicle hit a deer on West U.S. 56 and SW 30 Ave., half a mile west of the flood control bridge, at 8:52 a.m. Saturday.
A vehicle hit a deer on K-156 at NE 100 Ave. at 12:40 p.m. Saturday.
Two all-terrain vehicles were involved in an injury accident on the river, according to an Urgent Care employee at St. Rose, who contacted the sheriff’s office Saturday evening. No additional information was available.
A vehicle hit a deer in the 300 block of North Washington Ave. at 12:07 a.m. Sunday.
Theft of a full body African lion target from an archery range one mile south of Ellinwood by the river bridge was reported Sunday.
An unknown motorist knocked out a utility pole at NW 100 Road and NW 30 Ave., it was discovered Sunday morning.

Kansas Highway Patrol
A Ford F-150 driven by Leverne Huslig, 89, Ellinwood, was eastbound on U.S. 56 at NE 20 Ave., east of Great Bend in front of the KDOT facility, at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, when it rear-ended a Ford F-150 driven by Bradley A. Duryee, 39, Great Bend, who was also eastbound and had stopped to make a left turn. Duryee sustained a possible injury and was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital. Everyone was wearing a seat belt.

Great Bend Police
Amanda Zecha was allegedly driving east on 12th St. at 11:21 a.m. last Wednesday and struck a parked vehicle, then left the scene. She was later contacted and issued citations for hit and run.
Someone scratched a vehicle at 2715 20th St.,
A burglary at 1018 Jackson St. was reported Wednesday. Someone took an iPad from the residence.
Theft of a bike parked outside a room at the High Rise was reported.
A gas skip at 1000 Main was reported at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect vehicle was a black Chevy Tahoe with a female driver.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle at 3910 Cedar Park Pl. at 1:05 a.m. Thursday. During the afternoon, hit-and-run vehicles also struck vehicles parked at 3503 10th St. and 2210 10th St.
A vehicle driven by Leverne Huslig was westbound changing lanes on 10th St. near Kansas Ave. at 10:55 a.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Angie Anderson, who was also westbound.
Theft of bracelets from a room at 705 10th St. was reported.
A vehicle driven by Robert Rosin was southbound on McKinley St. at 7:58 p.m. Thursday and struck a parked vehicle.
A vehicle driven by Toby Leech was pulling from a drive in the 3500 block of 10th St. at 8:23 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Cynthia Steel, who was eastbound on 10th.
Theft of keys from 1812 Madison St. was reported.
At 3:50 a.m. Friday, an officer reported finding a 1993 Honda passenger car behind Dollar General in the 5500 block of 10th St., that had allegedly been stolen from the 3500 block of 10th St.
