Firefighters made seven ambulance runs on Tuesday. There were no fires.

A vehicle driven by Vila Rodrigues was westbound on 12th St. at 7:46 a.m. Tuesday and struck a vehicle driven by Stachi Haynes, who was northbound on Odell St.

At 2:43 p.m. Tuesday an officer attempted to stop a known person for driving with a suspended license in the 1200 block of Eisenhower Ave. The man ran from the area and could not be found. His vehicle was left on private property and was towed.

Someone damaged the driver side of a car parked at 3626 Robin Road, it was reported Tuesday. Damage was $500.

A motorist in a blue car left 2334 Main without paying for $30.04 in fuel, at 4:38 p.m. Tuesday.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A truck rolled northwest of Great Bend at 8:23 a.m. Tuesday after the load shifted, and the driver initially reported being in pain. The sheriff’s office and Hoisington Fire Department/Ambulance responded, but found it was not a crash and had occurred on private property. No accident report was taken.

A vehicle went into a ditch in the 2000 block of NW 130 Ave. sometime Tuesday morning. A relative reported something hit the vehicle, which caused the accident, and the driver then went to the relative’s house.

A GMC driven by Kenneth Horseley hit a deer about three miles north of Great Bend on U.S. 281 at 5:17 a.m. Wednesday.
