Great Bend Fire/EMS
Emergency Medical Service received five calls Friday, one of which was canceled while the ambulance was en route; two Saturday and seven Sunday. They were on standby at the dragstrip Friday and Saturday. There was one call for a smoke detector malfunction on Sunday.

Someone damaged a donation box at Veterans Memorial Park and stole money, it was reported Friday.
Vandalism was also reported at the park. Someone spray painted the walls by the spillway.
Items were reportedly stolen from a vehicle in the 1500 block of Williams Street.
A non-injury crash was reported at 3:09 p.m. in the 900 block of McKinley. Barton County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
An injury crash was reported at 3:44 p.m. at Hejny Retail Liquor, 821 Main. BCSO also responded.
A theft was reported at 3609 23rd St.
A burglary was reported at 1216 Frey St.
A burglary was reported Saturday at 2713 Monroe St.
A burglary in progress was reported for a storage shed at Great Bend Ampride, 2302 10th St., at 10:54 a.m. BCSO also responded.
A battery case was taken concerning a previous incident in the 900 block of Main Street.
A burglary in progress was reported at 2:52 p.m. Saturday at 2422 Lakin Ave. Suspects were arrested for trespassing, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
Theft of a four-wheeler was reported Sunday at 1807 Heizer St.

A battery was reported at 12:51 p.m. Saturday at 352 West 2nd St., Hoisington.
A battery was reported at 10:06 p.m. Saturday at Stone Lake, 2501 Railroad Ave., Great Bend.
A theft was reported Sunday at Washington and SE 10 Road, Great Bend.
A non-injury crash was reported at 8:40 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 201 and West U.S. 56.
A non-injury crash was reported at 9:33 p.m. in the 1800 block of North U.S. 281, Hoisington.
A vehicle hit a deer at 11:16 p.m. at mile marker 97 and South U.S. 281.
Buckets of paint were reported creating a traffic hazard at 11:56 p.m. at Fort Zarah, 330 East U.S. 56. The buckets were taken off of the road.
