Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Services made three ambulance runs Friday, four Saturday, three Sunday and two Monday.

Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 4:54 a.m. Saturday at 1608 Broadway Ave., a gas leak at 6:46 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Pine, and a cooking fire at 1:01 p.m. Monday at the Great Bend Housing Authority (High Rise), 1101 Kansas Ave.


Barton County Sheriff

A theft was reported Friday at NW 220 Road and NW 70 Ave., Galatia.

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:32 p.m. Friday at Fort Zarah, 330 East U.S. 56.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Sonic Drive-in, Great Bend. BCSO worked the accident after an eastbound police vehicle driven by K-9 officer Amber Allen was reportedly struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Jonathan Scott in the 3900 block of 10th St. 

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:36 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 209 of U.S. 56, east of Great Bend.

BCSO assisted an outside agency at 3:46 a.m. Monday at 1312 Carroll Ave. 4, Larned. BCSO also assisted Logan Township officials Monday afternoon at 673 NE 150 Ave., Ellinwood.

A burglary was reported Monday at 616 Santa Fe Ave., Pawnee Rock.

An injury crash was reported at 11:53 a.m. Monday at West U.S. 56 and Railroad Ave., Great Bend. However, no one was transported from the scene. 


Great Bend Police

A sex offense was reported Friday at a Great Bend residence.

Non-injury crashes were reported Friday at 3:16 p.m. at 22nd and Monroe, and at 5:04 p.m. at 19th and McKinley.

Non-injury crashes were reported Saturday at 1:38 p.m. at Cherry Lane and Hemlock Drive; at 2:07 p.m. at 2530 Quivira Ave.; at 2:20 p.m. at Forest and Harrison; at 3:21 p.m. at Forest and Jefferson; and at 4:28 p.m. at 1200 Ninth St.

A vehicle reportedly driven by a known male was eastbound in the 1600 block of 11th Street at 3:03 a.m. Sunday and struck a legally parked vehicle, then left the scene.

A vehicle hit a stop sign Sunday morning at Lakin and Odell and then left the area.

Theft of a wallet from a vehicle at 1718 Broadway Ave. was reported. 

A non-injury crash was reported at 11 a.m. Sunday in the 4900 block of 12th St.

Police responded to a domestic call at 2:13 p.m. in the 2800 block of Forest Ave. The caller reported his ex, Allison M. Barrett, Great Bend, slapping glasses from his face. Barrett was booked for battery domestic violence and criminal damage to property; she was released after posting a $1,000 surety bond.

A non-injury hit-and-run crash was reported in the 1400 block of 12th St.

A battery was reported Monday morning at 1205 Eisenhower Ave.

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:20 p.m. Monday at 18th and Hubbard.

Theft of motor fuel was reported at Great Bend Ampride, 2302 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:42 p.m. Monday at 1803 Kansas Ave.

A dog bite was reported in the 2400 block of Zarah Drive.

A woman reported someone driving her car around at night and using her gas.
