Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs Tuesday and five Wednesday.
A carbon monoxide check was performed at 9:18 a.m. Tuesday at 1800 Morphy St. No CO was found.
At 1:09 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to 1621 16th St. for an unauthorized burning in the back yard, and at 8:04 p.m. they performed a CO check at 5913 Aspen Dr.
Kansas Highway Patrol
A fatal accident occurred at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday in Scott County, three miles from Scott City. A Mack truck driven by Christopher Thomas Koger, 25, Ness City, was northbound on Indian Road. As the truck crossed K-96, it was hit by a westbound Freightliner pulling a grain trailer, driven by Timothy Allen Smith, 58, WaKeeney. The Mack truck rolled onto its top and came to rest in the north ditch on north side of K-96. The Freightliner came to rest in north ditch and caught fire. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Koger sustained possible injury and was taken to the Scott County hospital.
Great Bend Police
A vehicle driven by Lee Smith was southbound on Patton Road at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday and struck a vehicle driven by Laura Wharton, who was westbound on 10th St.
A 2011 Lingyu moped was reportedly stolen from 5501 Ninth St. No. 95 between 9:40 and 10 p.m. on Monday.
A 27-year-old woman was at the Great Bend Regional Hospital Emergency Room at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday after being bitten by a dog in the 1400 block of 22nd St. A notice to appear in municipal court was signed and served.
Someone shot a window at Great Bend Honda-Kawasaki, 2111 10th St., causing $800 in damage.
A vehicle driven by Ronnie Hamby was northbound on Jackson St. at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday and struck a vehicle driven by Alec Witt, who was westbound on 12th St.
Numerous items were reportedly stolen from a house at 711 Morphy St.
Loud bangs were heard from the 4800 block of 10th St. at 3:28 a.m. Thursday. Nothing was found.

Non-injury accidents and vehicle slide-offs reported Tuesday include: A vehicle hit a bridge in the 10 block of South U.S. 281 at 5:50 a.m.; a Chevy Trailblazer went off Railroad Ave. at SW 10 Ave. at 6:08 a.m.; a vehicle hit a tree on North Washington Ave. and NW 30 Road at 6:41 a.m.; a vehicle went in the ditch near Galatia on U.S. 281 at 6:57 a.m.; a vehicle went off North Washington Ave. at NE 30 Road at 7:02 a.m.; a Pontiac went in the ditch in the 3400 block of Railroad Ave. at 7:55 a.m.; a vehicle slid off North U.S. 281 at NE 50 Road at 8:01 a.m., a vehicle slid off the 200 block of NE 30 Road at 8:33 a.m.; a pickup slid into a ditch in the 100 block of NE 30 Road at 8:41 a.m.; a snow plow or sand truck reportedly caused a vehicle to slide off West K-4 and U.S. 281 at 11:15 a.m.; a vehicle hit a bumper that blew off of a wrecker in the 400 block of NW K-156 at 11:55 a.m.; a Mazda went in the ditch at NE 100 Ave. and NE 50 Road at 12:27 p.m.
A vehicle hit a City of Hoisington pickup at the intersection of East 1st and North Elm St., Hoisington, at 10:31 a.m. Wednesday, and then hit a parked pickup.
A stop sign was down Wednesday afternoon at NE 30 Road and North U.S. 281.
A tag was lost or stolen from the 400 block of Kiowa Road.
A vehicle hit a deer on East U.S. 56, one mile west of Ellinwood, at 9 p.m. Wednesday.
