Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters had six Emergency Medical Service runs on Wednesday.
There was a false alarm at the Highrise, 1101 Kansas Ave., at 2:29 p.m., and a carbon monoxide check at 12:53 a.m. Thursday  at 2510 11th St. No CO was found.

Kansas Highway Patrol
Two people sustained possible injury Wednesday when cars collided at 4:23 p.m. on K-156 and the K-14 intersection, a mile south of Ellsworth. Marlea M. Callahan, 61, Bushton, was southbound on K-156, and Jerry Carver, 68, Holyrood, was stopped southbound on K-14 at K-156. Callahan was following another vehicle that turned left abruptly on K-14. Callahan made an evasive maneuver to the right in the passing/turning lane. Carver started to turn right, and both vehicles collided in the intersection. Callahan and passenger Aubrey Carter were taken to Ellsworth County Medical Center.

Great Bend Police
Due to computer problems at the police department, the “calls for service” log for Monday and Tuesday was unavailable.
Theft of $50 from a room at 1550 NW K-96 was reported Wednesday.
A fraud case was taken Wednesday in reference to an alleged Internet scam.

Barton County Sheriff
A male armed with a knife caused a disturbance in the 300 block of North Washington Ave. at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday and left. He was located within the block and was taken into protective custody after making statements that he was going to harm himself.
