Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters were dispatched to the Highrise, 1101 Kansas Ave, at 4:52 a.m. Thursday, with a report of smoke in room 401. They found light smoke in the apartment and a candle on the TV that had melted down.
Emergency Medical Service made five ambulance runs Wednesday.

Vehicles driven by Tina Reif and Kenneth Link collided at 24th and Main at 10:03 a.m. Wednesday.
Theft of clothing from the Cottonwood Shopping Center, 3709 10th St., was reported.
A known person allegedly took pictures from Maggie’s bar at 1318 Kansas Ave. when he was let go. A notice to appear in municipal court was signed.
An officer was requested to stand by as Golden Belt Humane Society responded to one or two animal complaints between 5 and 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Buckeye St.
A checkbook was reportedly stolen at Walmart, 3503 10th St. Three forged checks were also reported.

A deputy took a miscellaneous theft report Wednesday at the office.
Kansas license tag 532 BJP was found in a ditch by the county mowing crew.
