Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters checked a possible carbon monoxide problem at 2103 Monroe St. at 1:35 p.m. on Friday, but found nothing.
They were dispatched to Long John Silver’s at 1:09 p.m. Saturday. There had been a small grease fire that was extinguished by staff before their arrival.
Two more CO checks were performed over the weekend. At 5:21 p.m. Saturday they found a malfunction with the CO detector at 1217 Harding St., but no CO was found. Elevated levels of carbon monoxide were found at 622 South U.S. 281 at 3:10 p.m. Sunday. The owner was advised to contact a furnace repairman before turning the furnace back on.
There were 15 Emergency Medical Service calls from Friday through Sunday.


Great Bend Police
Damage to Christmas lights at 4800 17th St. Terrace was reported Friday morning.
A burglary at 200 McKinley was reported. Someone cut a lock on a storage shed and took a snowblower, air compressor and truck.
A burglary at 2720 Forest Ave. was reported. A drill was stolen from the garage.
Pipe was stolen from the yard at 5501 Ninth St.
A search warrant was served at 1:53 p.m. Friday on Apt. 25 at the Baltzell Motel, 705 10th St.
On Friday a woman reported receiving a call stating she owed Fed-Ex $255. She sent the money then found out it was a scam.
A man reported that his wife hit him with a shovel two days earlier. A case was taken for review.
Theft of stereo equipment from a vehicle at 2007 26th St. was reported.
A vehicle driven by Michaela Ursuro was westbound on 24th and U.S. 281 Bypass at 11:43 p.m. Friday and struck a stop sign.
A $69 gas skip at 2334 Main was reported at 3:48 a.m. Saturday.
A possible aggravated battery in the 1300 block of Holland St. was reported at 3:52 a.m. Two men were fighting and had minor injuries but neither wanted to prosecute.
A tool box was stolen from the back of a truck at 2208 24th St.
A vehicle allegedly driven by Josh Hoeffner was southbound in the 1000 block of Washington at 10th St. at 5:53 p.m. Saturday and struck a vehicle driven by Kenneth Burt Jr., then left the area.
Graffiti was found on the back of 1702 Main on Saturday night.
At 2:08 a.m. Sunday, police received a report that an unknown person entered the house at 2219 31st St., knocked holes in the walls and broke a Christmas tree.
Theft of a purse from an employee locker at 3503 10th St. was reported.
