Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters had 10 Emergency Medical Service calls on Thursday.
There was a false alarm at 3:19 p.m., when someone saw exhaust coming from machinery on West Barton County Road and thought it was a fire. At 5:18 a.m. Friday they responded to a carbon monoxide problem  at 1409 Warner Road. The gas company was called to fix the problem.

Other fires
At 7 a.m. on Thursday, a residence at 1941 NW 130 Ave. was destroyed by fire.

Great Bend Police
A Great Bend resident reported an unknown person using her debit card to purchase items over the Internet. At least 12 unauthorized purchases were reported.
A blue and white men’s bicycle was stolen from 623 Baker Ave., it was reported Thursday.
Four worthless checks were allegedly issued by a known person.

Barton County Sheriff
A man reported that a known person sold him a “scratch ticket” in an alleged case of theft by deception.
