Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters had a few false alarms but no actual fires last week. A report of smoke from a building on Tuesday was actually coming from a wood-burning fireplace. On Wednesday a smoke detector was activated by a malfunction, and on Thursday construction work activity activated a smoke detector at Great Bend Middle School.
Firefighters made four ambulance runs Tuesday, four Wednesday and two Thursday.

Great Bend Police
Theft of cell phones from 3705 10th St. was reported Thursday.

Theft of fuel from 3730 Railroad Ave. was reported Thursday.
