Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made two ambulance runs on Tuesday. There was one fire call. At 6:37 p.m. units responded to 1315 Morphy for a structure fire.
Upon arrival there was light smoke coming from the roof and attic area. Crews made their way upstairs and found fire in the walls and ceiling spaces.
The sheet rock on the ceiling and walls had to be removed to gain access to the fire to completely extinguish the fire.
Crews were on the scene for about two hours.
There was extensive damage to the upstairs of the home. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.

An injury accident was reported at 18th St. and Baker Avenue.
Fraud was reported at Sunflower Bank located at 3600 10th St. A counterfeit bill was collected into evidence.
Fraud was reported at A440 Music located at 1207 Main St. Criminal use of a financial card.
Fraud was reported at Walmart located at 3503 10th St. Criminal use of a financial card.
Fraud was reported at Presto-Circle K. Criminal use of a financial card.
Fraud was reported at Casey’s General Store located at 2716 10th St. Criminal use of a financial card.
Fraud was reported at McDonalds located at 3307 10th St. Criminal use of a financial card.
A narcotics violation was reported at 1101 Kansas Ave.
Theft was reported at Chosen Wok located at 3908 10th St.
Theft of fuel was reported at Casey’s General Store located at 2716 10th St.
Barton County Sheriff
Theft was reported at 406 E 6th St. in Hoisington.
Kansas Highway Patrol
At 12:22 on Tuesday the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to a one vehicle accident in Pawnee County.
William Holloway, 63, of Colorado was driving a 1998 Petebilt semitrailer eastbound on K-156 near mile marker 82, three miles west of Rozel.
The vehicle went off the south side of the roadway.
Holloway tried to correct himself back onto the highway which caused the load to shift, laying the vehicle over in the south ditch.
Holloway was injured in the accident and was transported to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital and later he was flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Holloway was not wearing his seat belt.
