Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters checked for carbon monoxide at 1407 Hoover st. at 4:47 p.m. p.m. Thursday, but no CO was found.
They had eight Emergency Medical Service calls for the day.

Barton County Sheriff
A Mazda driven by Shilo Cruz was eastbound on NE 10 Road at 3:26 p.m. Thursday when it began to slide in the mud. A vehicle behind the Mazda, driven by Julie Duryee, was unable to stop and there was a collision, with minor damage to both vehicles. Cruz reportedly left the scene.
A vehicle hit a deer in the 400 block of North Washington Ave. at 6:12 p.m. Thursday.

Great Bend Police
Tires were cut on a vehicle at 1414 18th St., it was reported Wednesday.
Yard decorations were stolen from 1401 Broadway Ave.
Mail was stolen from 1302 Harrison St.
A vehicle driven by Doug Dimitt was backing in an alley at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday and struck a vehicle on 17th St. driven by Lori Jacobs.
A $40 gas skip at 1315 10th St. was reported at 7:47 p.m. Wednesday.
A cruelty to animals case was taken Wednesday after a resident at 1036 Madison reported someone shooting his cat with an arrow.
A vehicle driven by Jessica Ketch was westbound on 24th St. at 6:02 a.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Christie Blazek, who was southbound on Washington.
A vehicle driven by Brenda Jones was eastbound on Broadway at noon on Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Ashly Barnett, who was southbound on Stone crossing Broadway. The Barnett vehicle then struck a vehicle driven by Cathy Rhan, who was stopped at the stop sign.
A vehicle driven by Jennifer McReynolds was southbound on Patton Road at 4:20 p.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Kody Taylor, who was stopped at 10th St.
Ellsworth County Sheriff’s Office requested an outside agency assist Thursday night on a sex offense case.
