Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made four ambulance runs on Thursday. There was one fire call.
At 10:10 p.m. firefighters responded to 1410 Park for a reported house fire. Upon arrival, they found flames coming from the top of the chimney.
The homeowner stated that he was inside the home and heard popping noise coming from the chimney. He closed the damper to the fireplace and called 911. The fire was contained to inside the chimney and was extinguished by firefighters with a dry chemical fire extinguisher. The owner was going to have the chimney cleaned before using the fireplace.

A non-injury accident was reported at Broadway Avenue and Patton Road.
A non-injury accident was reported at 10th and Washington Street.
A non-injury accident was reported in the 3500 Block of 10th Street.
Theft of cash was reported at 926 Madison St.
Theft of a wallet was reported at Charlies Place located at 1109 Main St.
