Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters responded to a report of a possible explosion at 6:39 p.m. Monday on south Kiowa Road. They spoke with the homeowner, who said he had seen a vehicle driving around and someone threw something out the window that he believed was some kind of firecracker. There was no fire. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office also responded to this call, at 107 Kiowa Road.
Emergency Medical Service made three ambulance runs on Monday and one on Tuesday.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer at 3:37 p.m. Monday between Great Bend and Ellinwood.
Two vehicles collided at 1:54 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of South U.S. 281.

Great Bend Police
A Great Bend resident on Monday reported someone attempting to open credit cards in her name. This was reported as five separate cases of identity theft.
A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at Wendy’s restaurant, 3519 10th St., it was reported Tuesday.
A theft which allegedly occurred at Walmart on June 5 was reported Tuesday.
A white, 1996 Ford Explorer with Kansas license 511 FTE was reportedly stolen from 2903 21st St.
