Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs Monday.
At 1:16 p.m. they responded to a fire in the back yard at 2201 27th St. Chief Mike Napolitano said they found and extinguished an unattended illegal burn.
At 7:57 p.m. firefighters responded to a possible fire in the area 500 block of K-96, near the Mullergren Power Plant. Responders did not find a fire and believe blowing dust was mistaken for smoke.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer in the 1900 block of NW 100 Ave. and 200 Road at 9:57 p.m. Sunday.
A vehicle hit a deer in the 400 block of East U.S. 56 at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Great Bend Police
A vehicle driven by Arthur Carvens was eastbound in the 2600 block of 10th St. at noon Friday and struck another eastbound vehicle, driven by Everett Stricker.
Shoplifting was reported Friday and twice Saturday at Walmart. Loss was $35, 12.93 and $174.05.
The lock on a shed at 3118 Washington St. was damaged, it was discovered Saturday morning.
A vehicle driven by Tracy Swilling hit a fire hydrant at Patton Road and Eisenhower St. at 1:12 p.m. Saturday.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the Walmart parking lot Monday morning.
A sex offense was reported Monday in Great Bend.
Theft of $200 from 4708 10th St. was reported.
A shoplifter was reported Monday at Dillon’s, 1811 Main.
A known person allegedly hit another person’s vehicle with a vehicle and battered the individual, Monday evening at 1408 Kansas Ave,
