Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters responded to a false alarm at 1502 12th St. at 7:29 p.m. Thursday. There were no fires or ambulance calls that day.

Great Bend Police
A hit-and-run driver in a silver truck struck a pedestrian on private property in the 1600 block of Main at 12:21 p.m. Thursday. There were no injuries or damage.
Unlawful use of a credit card was reported.
A burglary was reported at 1618 Jefferson St.

Barton County Sheriff
A Fed-Ex tractor-trailer hit a sign and went off K-156 near mile marker 138 at 3:04 a.m. Thursday.
Barton County residents on Thursday reported attempted phone scams. One caller received a recorded message that his debit card was deactivated, in an attempt to get him to reveal information on the card. Another man said he got a call on his cell phone and his wife took a call on the home phone; both were told their credit card needed to be reinstated and asked them to enter the card number.
