Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs Monday, six Tuesday and nine Wednesday.
At 8:48 a.m. Monday they were called to a possible vehicle fire at 10th and Main. They found a truck that had blown a turbo on its engine and was smoking.
At 6:34 p.m. Wednesday there was a trash fire at the landfill, and at 11:49 a.m. firefighters responded to 23 McKinley St. where a controlled burn had spread to other trees in the area.

Great Bend Police
A known person was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run, non-injury accident at 4800 17th St. Terrace at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday.
An iPad valued at $350 was reported stolen from 2701 Dry Creek St.

Barton County Sheriff
A border collie was reported stolen from 1450 SE 50 Road on Wednesday.
Officers issued a search warrant at 1215 Van Buren St., Great Bend, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, seeking wanted subjects. They did not find who they were looking for, but two people were arrested on other charges.
Snake root was stolen from Calp’s Fur and Root, 561 South Main, Hoisington.
A vehicle hit a deer at 8:44 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 281 at milepost 101.
