Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs Thursday.
At 8:46 a.m. they responded to a non-injury accident at Ninth and Elm St., where one of the vehicles was reported smoking. Chief Mike Napolitano said there was no fire.

An identity theft case was taken Thursday after someone opened an account in a Great Bend resident’s name.
A vehicle driven by Dusti Beckham was eastbound in the 3800 block of Broadway at 1:07 p.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Brenda L. Vazquez-Loera, who was also eastbound.
Someone reportedly put sugar in a gas tank at 1711 Heizer St., causing $500 in damage.
A Sony Playstation Vita console valued at $300 was reportedly stolen from a residence at 1916 Baker Ave.

Barton County Sheriff’s Office
A dozer fell off a flatbed trailer being pulled by a semi at 2:15 p.m. Thursday on South U.S. 281 and SE 20 Road. No one was injured.
