Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made four ambulance runs on Thursday.
At 7:14 p.m. they responded to a cooking fare at Long John Silver’s, 3800 10th St. Chief Mike Napolitano said there was no visible fire or smoke coming from the building when the firefighters arrives. Employees standing outside on the north side of the building said there was fire under the deep fryer in the kitchen. One employee said she used a portable extinguisher on the fire.
“We checked the area, shut off gas to the fyers and ventilated the building the help remove smoke and residual powder from the extinguisher,” he said. “The employees did a good job in extinguishing the fire, getting the customers out and themselves. Cleanup started right away.”

Great Bend Police
A surveillance camera was stolen and wires damaged at Pro Tint Auto Glass, 5605 10th St., it was reported Thursday.
A gas skip involving a gray Dodge Charger was reported at 4:16 p.m. at 1315 10th St.
A phone was reportedly stolen from 2303 Main.
Vehicles driven by Laura Campbell and Nicole Brunder collided at 11:36 p.m. at 5320 10th St.
An aggravated assault at the Kwik Shop, 2334 Main, was reported at 12:03 a.m. Friday, after a male was allegedly threatened by an unknown male with a handgun. A short time later, police made a narcotics arrest in the area and the alleged victim was arrested for two outstanding Barton County warrants.
At 12:51 a.m., criminal damage was reported at 2001 Hubbard St. Someone scratched a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Barton County Sheriff
A burglary was reported Thursday at 1325 NE 230 Road. Items were missing from a shed.
