Correction
A report concerning two vehicles that collided at 9:18 a.m. on May 1 in the 4200 block of 10th St. contained an error. A vehicle driven by Wade Colvin struck a vehicle driven by Leroy Wilhelm.

Firefighters made six ambulance runs Tuesday.

Kansas Highway Patrol
A Wichita woman was taken to the Hutchinson hospital after two vehicles collided on K-14 in Reno County. Kansas Highway patrol reports the accident occurred at 2:28 p.m., 6 miles west of Nickerson. A Cadillac Escalade driven by  Bonnie J. Gillespie, 49, of Sterling and a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Lawrence Gachuhi Wanjau, 28, of Wichita were behind a slower moving vehicle which both drivers attempted to pass at the same time. The pickup went off the left shoulder as the driver over-corrected. It  went into the east ditch before overturning multiple times. Passenger Shirley Marie Wanjau, 28, was injured. All were wearing seat belts.

Barton County Sheriff
Theft of items from 421 Washington, Great Bend, was reported Tuesday.
Batteries were reportedly stolen from farm equipment in the 200 block of NW 80 Ave.

Great Bend Police
Two subjects were allegedly seen stealing items from the Dillon’s store at 1811 Main late Tuesday morning. One was served a notice to appear in municipal court; the second suspect could not be found.
Someone reportedly poured sugar in a vehicle’s gas tank at 811 Kansas Ave.
A wallet was reportedly stolen at Great Bend High School, 2027 Morton St.
A theft by a known person was reported at 12:23 am. Wednesday at 701 Morton St. A notice to appear was signed, but officers did not make contact with the suspect.
