Ellinwood Fire Department
A train started a grass fire east of T&C Manufacturing, 11 NE 50 Ave., around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer in the 5300 block of Railroad Ave. at 7:51 p.m. Tuesday.
A vehicle driven by Paul Huschka hit a deer on U.S. 56 mile marker 213 at 6:09 a.m. Wednesday.

Great Bend Police
A burglary at 1706 Main was reported at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday. A GMC pickup and safe were stolen. At 11:10 a.m. the pickup was located on 24th St. and released to the owner.
An injury accident was reported at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday. Jim Potter was driving south on Walnut and struck a vehicle driven by Joshua Williamson, who was northbound on Walnut.
At 12:37 p.m. Tuesday a male reported three known males forced entry into his residence at 1401 Second St. Juan A. Sanchez Jr.,  20, Rudolfo Perez, 19, and Miguel A. Armendariz, 24, all of Great Bend, were booked into the Barton County Jail on aggravated burglary charges, with bond set at $50,000.
A “theft by deception” case was taken Tuesday when an individual reported purchasing a vehicle on Craig’s List and never receiving it. Loss was $1,500.
Damage to a yard decoration at 2103 Monroe St. was reported. Loss was $30.
Someone stole a Kansas license plate, 903 DHT, from 2822 12th St.
An 18-year-old male allegedly stole a case of Budweiser from 821 Main St.
