Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made three ambulance runs on Monday. There was one fire call. Units were dispatched to the west of Radium Road in the area of the Arkansas River for the report of hay bales on fire. Initial units arrived on scene and found several large hay bales as well as grass and trees on fire. Another fire was located down in the river about one mile from this fire. Crews found more grass and trees burning down in the river at that location. Mutual aid crews from Pawnee Rock and Stafford County were called to assist. Crews remained on scene for several hours to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

A non-injury accident was reported at Polk Street and 24th Street.
Theft was reported at Ace Hardware located at 4903 10th St.
Theft was reported at 1801 Morton St.
Theft was reported at 5263 Timber Creek Road. A cell phone was stolen.
Theft was reported at Autozone located at 2219 10th St.
Fraud was reported at 2541 16th St.
Burglary was reported at 2102 27th St. Unknown subject entered a residence and took items.
Theft was reported at Walmart located at 3503 10th St. A bike was stolen.

Barton County Sheriff
A non-injury accident was reported at 870 NE K-156 in Claflin. A vehicle hit a deer.

Kansas Highway Patrol
A vehicle was eastbound on Old 40 Hwy, entered the south ditch and collided with a sign, vehicle came to rest facing southeast at an access road. Possible injuries reported.
