Barton County Sheriff
On Thursday afternoon, an officer and an employee of the Golden Belt Humane Society checked on the welfare of horses on the south side of K-96 near 60 Ave., after a concerned caller said they appeared to be malnourished. Nine horses were checked and they were not up-to-date on their shots.
A burglary and theft at 607 SW 50 Ave. was reported Thursday after someone broke into the house.
A vehicle hit a deer at 8:41 p.m. Thursday on NW 190 Road and North U.S. 281.
