Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service responded to nine calls Friday, six Saturday and four Sunday.

There a ditch fire at 2:26 p.m. at SE 50 Road and SE 20 Ave. A vehicle fire reported shortly before the ditch fire in the same vicinity was out when units arrived.

A deck fire was reported at 2:29 a.m. Sunday at 2208 29th St.


Barton County Sheriff

An injury crash was reported at 11:13 a.m. Friday at 67 NW 50 Road, Great Bend.

A burglary in progress was reported at 10:10 p.m. Saturday at 726 E. 2nd St., Hoisington.


Great Bend Police

A theft was reported Friday at Burger King.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:03 a.m. at 22nd and Kansas.

A sex offense was reported.

An injury crash was reported at 12:13 p.m. at 1204 Main.

A theft was reported at 218 Pine St.

Hair dye was reportedly stolen from Dollar General, 2400 10th St.

Theft of a bike was reported Saturday at Wal-Mart.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:46 a.m. Saturday at Bonita Ave. and Paseo Dr.

A vehicle collided with a motorcycle at 11 a.m. at 3115 Broadway Ave. Minor injuries were reported.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:52 a.m. at 24th and McKinley.

Siding was reportedly stolen from 1522 8th St.

Officers located Steven Brock and his vehicle in reference to an Attempt to Locate (ATL) bulletin from the Wilson Police Department for attempted murder, at 5:47 a.m. Sunday. Wilson PD arrived and took custody of Brock and the vehicle. The Ellsworth County Sheriff’s Office on Monday confirmed that Brock taken into custody on the charge and was in the detention center in lieu of bond.

Theft of a sound bar was reported at 2501 Lakin Ave.

Sunday night, Hays Police Department requested assistance locating a subject. Police responded to the 1300 block of Morton St. but did not find anything. They had follow-up questions at 12:26 a.m. Monday and collected evidence for Hays PD.
