Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service made seven ambulance runs Wednesday and six Thursday.

On Wednesday there was one carbon monoxide detector malfunction, one unauthorized burn in the 1200 block of Ninth Street, one smoke alarm malfunction and one call canceled en route. Firefighters were also on standby at the city fireworks display.

On Thursday there were five fire calls:

• 5900 block of Eisenhower – dumpster fire

• 2000 block of Van Buren – no fire found

• 600 block of S. 281 highway – controlled burn, 10:43 p.m.

• 4900  block of Quail Creek – grass fire was out prior to arrival

• 300 block of N. 281 – trash pile ignited, 9:31 p.m.


Barton County Sheriff

A fire was reported at 9:57 a.m. Wednesday on West U.S. 56 at mile marker 214.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:24 p.m. at Faith Community Church, 293 West Barton County Road.

A fire was reported at 4:49 p.m. Thursday at 4000 Main in Albert.

An injury crash was reported at 6:48 p.m. Thursday on East U.S. 56 and mile marker 211, Great Bend. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.


Great Bend Police

Criminal damage to a yard at 2101 25th St. Was reported Wednesday.

A window was damaged on a residence at 1409 Warner Rd.

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 11:15 a.m. at 103 Elm St.

A vehicle window was damaged at 1713 Tyler St.

One vehicle rear-ended another in a non-injury crash at 4:17 p.m. at Arby’s, 3413 10th St.

At 12:36 a.m. Friday, an individual reported being battered by a known person in the 1800 block of Polk Street.

Jason Payne — Probation violation, domestic battery, criminal damage to property

Bailey Fish — Expired registration, no proof of insurance, driving while suspended, interference with law enforcement officer, escape from custody, theft of property

Linda Mills, Great Bend — Aggravated battery-child abuse

Jason Hull, Great Bend — Own recognizance

Dakota Green — To Kansas Department of Corrections

Daelin Barr — $500 surety bond
