Great Bend Fire/EMS

Firefighters were dispatched to Alfalfa Pellets LLC., 379 NW 40 Road, at 9 p.m. Sunday. Approximately 10 hay bales were smoking but never ignited. Firefighters returned Monday morning when smoke was coming from the center of the bales again.

Emergency Medical Service responded to five calls last Friday, eight Saturday, seven Sunday and five Monday.

A carbon monoxide check was performed at 8:48 a.m. Monday in the 2700 block of 18th St.

Firefighters also sent their swift water rescue team out Monday night and Tuesday morning to search for a missing body.

Barton County Sheriff

A battery was reported Monday at 2407 Coronado Ave., Great Bend.

A fraud case was reported at 5922 Anchor Way, Great Bend.

Vehicles were involved in a pursuit at 11:02 a.m. starting at 5th and Odell St. in Great Bend. Great Bend Police Department also responded.

Criminal damage to a window at The Reserves at Trail Ridge apartments, 811 Grant St., was reported Monday.

A non-injury crash was reported at 1:50 p.m. in the 3100 block of 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:31 p.m. at Farmer’s Bank & Trust, 1017 Harrison St.

Theft of a wallet was reported at The Reserves at Trail Ridge.

A non-injury crash was reported at 4:33 p.m. at Central Kansas Family Practice, 1309 Polk St.

An abandoned bike was found in an alley in the 1700 block of Odell Street and returned to the owner.

A burglary in progress was reported at 10:58 p.m. at 5806 Rosewood Dr., when a subject was seen in a shed in the back yard.
