Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:42 a.m. Friday at 531 NE K-156, Great Bend.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 1315 NE 50 Ave., Hoisington.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:09 p.m. at 1200 Parish Road, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:31 a.m. at NW 190 Road and NW 30 Ave., Hoisington.

Officers checked a report of shots fired at 11:58 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of North Washington Ave., Great Bend, but found nothing.

BSCO assisted an outside agency at 10:22 a.m. Sunday at 27 SE 50 Road, Great Bend.

A fire was reported 9 p.m. at Alfalfa Pellets LLC., 379 NW 40 Road, Great Bend.

A battery was reported at 10:23 p.m. at the Barton County Detention Center.


Great Bend Police

A woman who reported being punched in the stomach by an unknown person at 3:21 a.m. Friday later admitted she was making it up.

Two guns were recovered from an earlier burglary.

A vehicle stolen out of Michigan was recovered by an officer at the Super 8 motel, 911 Grant.

Theft of fuel was reported at Klima Well Service, 908 Macarthur Road.

At the request of U.S. Capitol Police, Great Bend police contacted a man about threats or statements he allegedly made about a Kentucky senator.

An individual was contacted after someone reported a dog in a hot vehicle at Walmart at 4:22 p.m.

On Friday evening police checked a report of a grenade in the roadway in the 600 block of McKinley St. It was a toy.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:09 p.m. at 1200 Parrish Road.

On Saturday, an individual reported receiving scam phone calls from people representing themselves as Wheatland Electric representatives.

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 5:55 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Baker Ave.

A woman found a wallet and returned it to the Great Bend Police Department. It was returned to the owner, who advised nothing was missing.

A battery was reported in the 2100 block of Jefferson St. around 7 p.m.

Theft of a cellphone from 219 Elm St. was reported Sunday.
