Great Bend Fire/EMS

A vehicle was on fire at 10:11 a.m. Friday in the Walgreen’s parking lot, 3920 10th St.

Other fire calls included a burn complaint at 1014 Stone St. at 7 p.m. Wednesday (it was a fire pit); a carbon monoxide check on Thursday; and a grass fire at 2:09 p.m. Saturday in the 60 block of 50 Ave.

Emergency Medical Service responded to seven calls on Wednesday, four on Thursday with another call canceled en route, seven on Friday, two on Saturday and six on Sunday with another canceled en route.


Great Bend Police

A theft was reported Wednesday at The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus, 514 Cleveland St.

A bicycle was reportedly stolen from 1302 Monroe St.

A hit-and-run crash was reported at Walmart, 3503 10th St.

Police checked reports of several individuals who were possibly armed making threats Wednesday at Walmart.

A possible burglary in progress was reported at 8:22 p.m. Thursday at 1614 1/2 Lakin Ave.

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 10:11 p.m. at Kwik Shop No. 753, 3907 Broadway Ave. The run vehicle and driver were located and the driver was cited.

An unknown person was reportedly trespassing at 2912 18th St. Thursday night and damaged a door at the residence.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:47 a.m. Friday at McDonald’s, 3907 10th St.

A Great Bend resident reported receiving a scam phone call.

A non-injury crash was reported at 5:07 p.m. at 10th and Washington.

A theft was reported Saturday morning at 20th and the U.S. 281 Bypass.

A kidnapping was reported at 5 a.m. Saturday at Walmart.

An individual at 2011 Hubbard St. reported being assaulted by Theresa Hannaford. Hannaford was booked at the jail and released after posting a $10,000 surety bond.

A non-injury crash was reported at 2:25 p.m. Saturday at Dillons No. 51, 4107 10th St.

Theft of fuel was reported at 6:56 a.m. Sunday at Great Bend Ampride, 2302 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:56 p.m. Sunday at 19th and Morton.

Multiple fraud cases were reported after money was withdrawn from a Great Bend resident’s checking account without permission.


Barton County Sheriff

An injury crash was reported at 3:36 a.m. Wednesday 1009 NW 40 Ave., Hoisington. No one was transported.

A theft was reported at All Seasons Mobile Home, 4 NW 30 Road, Great Bend.

A pursuit was reported at 5:09 p.m. Wednesday on South U.S. 281, from mile marker 97. This was a Kansas Highway Patrol pursuit that went into Stafford County.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:28 p.m. at SE 40 Road and SE 50 Ave., Great Bend.

A theft was reported Thursday at East U.S. 56 at mile marker 221.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:14 p.m. Friday at West U.S. 56 and mile marker 194, Pawnee Rock.

A non-injury crash was reported at 1:35 p.m. Saturday at Mid Continent, 197 N. U.S. 281, Great Bend.

A theft was reported Sunday at 3909 2nd St., Great Bend.

An injury crash was reported at 5 p.m. Sunday at NE 70 Ave. and East U.S. 56, Great Bend. No one was transported.

A non-injury crash was reported at 5:33 p.m. in the 1300 block of NW K-96.
