Great Bend Fire/EMS

A fire was reported at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday at 419 Firethorn St. Loss was in excess of $150,000. The fire reignited around 11:22 p.m. 

A fire was reported at 12:25 a.m. Thursday at 2546 17th St. Loss was in excess of $125,000. The cause of both fires is still under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Emergency Medical Service responded two five calls Wednesday.


Barton County Sheriff

A burglary in progress was reported at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday at South Clay and West Broadway, Hoisington.

A theft was reported at All Seasons Mobile Home, 4 NW 30 Road, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 5:49 a.m. at NE K-156 and NE 85 Ave.

A theft was reported at 303 Garfield Ave., Olmitz.

A theft was reported at Liquor Box, 168 W. 2nd St., Hoisington.


Great Bend Police

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:14 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway and Polk.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:42 p.m. at Broadway and McKinley.
