Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service was on standby at Friday’s football game and Friday and Saturday at the drag races.

There were three ambulance calls Friday plus another canceled en route, six Saturday and 10 Sunday.

There were no fires.


Great Bend Police

A theft that included theft of a debit card was reported Friday at 5300 Broadway Ave.

A known person allegedly shoplifted makeup on Thursday. It was reported Friday and a notice to appear (NTA) was signed.

Someone used a debit card without the owner’s permission at Walmart, 3503 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 1:54 p.m. Friday at 341 Frey St.

A known person reportedly damaged a vehicle outside Charlie’s Place, 1109 Main. After this was reported at 12:41 a.m. Saturday, an NTA was signed but not served.

At 1:16 a.m., it was reported that several people were fighting in the front yard at 1215 Morton St. Ismael Montelongu was arrested for obstruction and possession of marijuana.

At 1:35 a.m., an individual reported being battered at Charlie’s Place by an unknown female.

A dog attacked a cat Saturday evening in the 400 block of Hickory Street and was picked up by Golden Belt Humane Society.

A hit and run crash was reported Saturday night at the Eagles Lodge, 1024 Main.

Scott Weber allegedly stole a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from Love’s Country Store, 1221 10th St., around 1:54 a.m. Sunday. An NTA was signed and served.

Weber was arrested at 2:13 a.m. Sunday at 8th and Heizer for interference with a law enforcement officer and battery of a law enforcement officer.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:22 a.m. Sunday at 11th and Holland.

A known person reportedly shoplifted items at Walmart and was arrested.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:45 p.m. Sunday at 10th and Harrison.

A disturbance was reported at 6:15 p.m. at Cross Roads Apartments, 2600 Adams St. 4. A known male allegedly battered a female but left prior to officers’ arrival. An NTA was signed.

A known person allegedly shoplifted items at Dollar General, 5318 10th St. An NTA was signed and served.


Barton County Sheriff

A theft was reported Friday at 658 SW 70 Road, Ellinwood.

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:14 a.m. Saturday at West U.S. 56 and SW 40 Ave.

A vehicle vs. deer crash was reported at 7:44 p.m. Saturday at NE 110 Ave. and NE 50 Road, Ellinwood. The vehicle was not damaged.

A non-injury crash was reported at 1:47 p.m. Sunday at Marks Custom Signs, 67 B NE 20 Road, Great Bend.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 9:39 p.m. Sunday at the Hoisington Police Department.
