Barton County Sheriff
Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to four non-injury crashes Friday in rural Great Bend. They were reported at 6:11 a.m. at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, 592 NE K-156; 9:36 a.m. at Railroad Ave. and Washington St.; 12:55 p.m. at Barton Community College, 245 NE 30 Road; and 6:16 p.m. in the 200 block of East U.S. 56.
A theft was reported Saturday at 1167 NE 50 Road, Ellinwood.
A sex offense was reported at a Great Bend address. Great Bend Police also responded.
Shots were fired at 2:44 a.m. Sunday at NE 100 Road and NE 150 Ave., Claflin.
A battery was reported at 7:28 p.m. Sunday at 205 N. Wilhelm, Ellinwood.

An unknown female left a bike in the middle of the roadway Friday evening at 9th and Stone St. It was booked into evidence.
A search warrant was executed at 8:57 p.m. Friday at 1443 18th St. The K-9 unit was deployed and arrests were made for alleged narcotics violations.
The K-9 was also used when a traffic stop was made at 11:03 p.m. Friday at 7th and Washington. Arrests were made for alleged narcotics violations. Then, around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, a Great Bend woman was arrested at 7th and Washington and booked for alleged narcotics and traffic violations.
A burglary was reported Sunday morning at 2108 25th St. Items were stolen from a vehicle.
Reno County requested assistance contacting Keith Heeke at 2501 Lakin Ave. in reference to his vehicle in that county. Heeke was arrested on a Barton County warrant.
Officers responded to a disturbance at 2:32 p.m. Sunday at 917 Jefferson St. A party reported a known person had battered him and damaged property. A notice to appear (NTA) in municipal court was signed.
An individual reported locating the bicycle he had reported stolen previously. A known person was issued an NTA for possession of stolen property.
Animal control responded to the Walmart parking lot at 4:01 p.m. for a report of a dog locked in a vehicle.
A warrant arrest was made at 4:14 p.m. at the Super 8, 911 Grant St. Leroy Bowers, Great Bend, had five outstanding warrants, including one for possession of meth.
A fight was reported Sunday afternoon at 5210 10th St. Apt. 11. A party reported being battered by a known person who left prior to the officer’s arrival. An NTA was signed.
A possible prowler was reported at 1:19 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of Frey St.
