KHP patch

A Ness County man died Monday after the sport utility vehicle he was driving crossed the center line of U.S. 283 in Trego County and collided with an oncoming semi.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports James J. Rohr, 60, of Ransom was about a tenth of a mile south of County Road S at 1:22 p.m. when the northbound Pontiac he was driving drifted across the center line for unknown reasons.

The SUV collided with a 2014 Peterbilt driven by Chance W. McMullen, 27, of Norton, who had no apparent injury.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
