Great Bend Fire Department

There was a report of a vehicle fire in the 1200 block of Morphy at 12:28 p.m. Thursday and a report of a gas leak or spill in the 800 block of Morton at 2:40 p.m. Nothing was found at either location.


Great Bend Police

A two-vehicle crash occurred at 7:38 a.m. Thursday in the 3700 block of Lakin Ave. No injuries were reported.

A report of a downed power line in the area of Holland and Park turned out to be a cable line. Cox Communications responded.

A battery was reported at 4:49 p.m. at 1401 9th St.

Police received a report at 5:23 p.m. that a window was broken on a vehicle at Orscheln Farm & Home, 5320 10th.

A Great Bend resident reported someone hacking into her Facebook account and asking people for money.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:25 p.m. in the 2800 block of 10th St.


Barton County Sheriff’s Office

Criminal damage to property was reported Thursday evening at the Barton County Detention Center, 1408 Kansas Ave.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:29 p.m. on West U.S. 56 at mile marker 192 near Pawnee Rock.
