Great Bend Fire/EMS

Firefighters checked on a report of arcing/sparks on a utility pole at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at 2715 18th St. Carbon monoxide levels were checked at 11:40 p.m. at 2801 19th St. Apt. 4.

Emergency Medical Service responded to four calls.


Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:38 a.m. Tuesday at Ellinwood Packing Plant, 989 East U.S. 56, Ellinwood.

A search warrant was issued at 9:53 a.m. at 328 Heizer St., Great Bend.

A theft was reported in the 1300 block of SW 30 Road, Pawnee Rock.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:09 a.m. at 2nd and Taft, Great Bend.

A forgery was reported at P&S Security, 255 West Barton County Road, Great Bend.

Great Bend Police

A burglary was reported Tuesday at 1306 Wilson St.

A burglary was reported at 5540 Eisenhower Ave. after someone broke into a shed and garage. 

Someone broke a chair and left a jumper pack in the yard at 1324 Van Fleet. The jumper pack was booked into evidence.

A bike was found in the yard at 7th and Hubbard. It was booked into evidence.

A theft was reported at 1220 Monroe after an unknown subject used the reporting party’s online account to order items.

GBPD assisted the sheriff’s office at 328 Heizer St. at 11 am. and the K-9 was called out at 1:16 p.m.

A possible burglary in progress was reported at 3:41 p.m. when a male was seen looking in vehicles at Animal Medical Center, 622 McKinley. Police contacted the man and advised him to stay off of AMC property.

An unknown male was reportedly trespassing in a back yard in the 5900 block of 16th St. Terrace around 1:20 p.m., and an individual in the 5500 block of Broadway Ave. reported someone entering his yard Monday night. Individuals at two residences in the 5600  block of Eisenhower Ave. reported someone entering their sheds overnight.
