Emergency Medical Services made eight ambulance runs Monday.
Firefighters responded to a sparking oven at 5:58 p.m. at 2526 Lakin Ave. There was no damage.
Two possible fire calls, one on Meadowlark Lane and an accidental false alarm on Birchwood, were downgraded while the trucks were en route.
An unauthorized use of a burn pit was reported at 9:47 p.m. in the 2100 block of 29th St. but it was out when firefighters arrived.
Great Bend Police
Police received a report of a subject trying to scam a woman over the phone. There was no criminal case because there was no loss.
A gate padlock was found on the ground at Veterans Memorial Park on Monday. The park department was contacted.
A non-injury crash was reported at 4:48 p.m. Monday at 12th and Lincoln.
GBPD assisted the Barton County Sheriff’s Office on a narcotics arrest at 6:23 p.m. Monday at 24th and Gano St.
A report was made of subjects shoplifting items from Walmart last week.
At 9:49 p.m., Officer T. Reed attempted a traffic stop at Broadway Ave. and Madison St. The driver failed to yield and fled after a single-vehicle minor crash. The driver was unidentified and remained at large.

A narcotics violation was investigated at 6:30 p.m. Monday at 24th and Gano, Great Bend, with the K-9 unit deployed.
All units were notified when the 9:49 p.m. pursuit was announced in Great Bend.
