Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service responded to six calls Friday, six Saturday and three Sunday. There was a cooking fire at 7:29 p.m. Friday at 2922 18th St.

On Saturday there was an unauthorized burn in the 2200 block of 16th Street at 8:37 a.m. GBFD also assisted at Barton Community College’s Field Ops Day.


Great Bend Police

An injury crash was reported at 9:56 a.m. Friday at 16th and Hubbard.

A burglary was reported at 2207 Heizer St. A gun was stolen.

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 12:59 p.m. Friday at the Great Bend Brit Spaugh Zoo. The suspect vehicle was later located and citations were issued.

An individual at The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus reported being battered by a known person on Saturday. A notice to appear (NTA) in municipal court was signed and served.

Theft of Kansas tag 446LVJ was reported at 221 Holland.

A suspected shoplifter was served an NTA Sunday at Walmart.

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:29 p.m. at Dollar General 5318 10th St.


Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle hit a deer at 2:20 a.m. Friday on East U.S. 56 at mile marker 214, Ellinwood.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:34 a.m. at SW 60 Road and SW 130 Ave.

Fraud was reported at 74 SE 20 Road, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:21 p.m. on West U.S. 56 at mile marker 200, Great Bend. 

Fraud was reported at 377 NW 220 Road, Hoisington.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9 p.m. Saturday at NE K-156 and mile marker 134.

A non-injury crash was reported at 5:18 p.m. Sunday at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, 592 NE K-156, Great Bend.

A prowler was reported at 9:14 p.m. in Albert.
