Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service made four ambulance runs Tuesday. There were no fires.

An update on Monday’s fire at 2230 Canterbury Lane: After lightning struck the house a small fire was reported in the basement at 11:25 p.m. The owner put it out prior to firefighters’ arrival.


Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 2:41 a.m. Tuesday at West U.S. 56 and SW 30 Ave.


Great Bend Police

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:26 a.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of 24th Street. A vehicle driven by Haley Schwager was eastbound and struck a vehicle driven by Sara Mayta, who was stopped in traffic.

Fraud/criminal use of a financial card was reported at McDonald’s, 3307 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 10:54 a.m. at 16th and Morton.

A Kansas K-State tag 41708 was stolen from a Buick Regal at 3301 Forest Ave.

Fraud/criminal use of a financial card was reported at Smokers Outlet, 3220 10th St., at Presto-Circle K (Kangaroo Express), 2337 Washington St; Walmart, 3503 10th St., Dillons No. 3, 1811 Main; Casey’s General Store, 2716 10th St.; Burger King, 3929 10th St.; Dollar Tree, 3502 10th St.; and Loves Country Store, 1221 10th St.

Items were reportedly stolen from a garage at 1451 21st St.

Money and medications were reportedly stolen from 1101 Morton St.

Theft of money was reported at Holiday Apartments, 5210 10th St.
