A fire was reported at 9:56 a.m. Monday at Holiday Apartments, 5210 10th St. There was another fire call to the apartments at 11:44 a.m.

Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Service responded to six calls on Friday, two on Saturday and three on Sunday. There were no other fires.



Other fire calls

A small bonfire put out at 8:35 p.m. Friday at 242 North U.S. 281, Great Bend.

A fire was reported at 10:26 a.m. Sunday at NW 120 Ave. and West K-4, Otis.


Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 1:21 p.m. Friday at the Odin Store, 890 NE 140 Road, Odin.

Non-injury crashes were reported at 7:13 p.m. Saturday on North U.S. 281 and NE 30 Road, Great Bend, and at 7:52 p.m. on East K-4 and mile marker 138, Claflin.

A report of shots fired was made at 4:43 p.m. Sunday in the area of 100 SW 10 Ave. Great Bend.


Great Bend Police 

Non-injury crashes were reported at 3:14 p.m. Friday at 18th and Morphy and at 3:47 p.m. at 18th and Morphy.

Criminal damage to a vehicle at 5942 Eisenhower Court was reported.

Theft of medication at 2725 Morton St. was reported Saturday.

A fight was reported at the Kwik Shop No. 747, 2334 Main, at 5:36 p.m. Saturday.

At 12:58 a.m. Sunday, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at 22nd and Madison. The vehicle failed to stop and left the city limits. Barton County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Highway Patrol continued the pursuit.

Police were asked to check a strange noise in the area of the 1000 block of Eighth Street at 3:30 a.m. Sunday. It was a train.

An individual reported being bitten by a cat in the vicinity of Walmart, 3503 10th St.

The front window of the former Barton County Arts Council building, 1401 Main, was broken.

A known person reportedly entered the residence at 3319 18th St. and damaged a window. A notice to appear (NTA) in municipal court was signed and served.

An individual reported being battered by a known person at 2419 Coronado Ave. An NTA was signed.

A burglary in progress was reported at 7:46 a.m. Monday at 1811 Stone St.

A battery was reported Monday morning at Washington Early Childhood Education Center, 2535 Lakin Ave.

Theft was reported at Great Bend Health and Rehab, 1560 K-96.

Theft was reported at 813 Monroe St.

A fraud case was reported at 1016 Morton St.

A burglary not in progress was reported at 133 Locust St.
