Great Bend Fire/EMS

Emergency Medical Services had seven runs Tuesday.

A grass fire was reported at 7:48 a.m. in the 100 block of Kiowa Road. A fire pit had gotten out of control onto the surrounding area. Firefighters turned the fire pit off and extinguished the hot spots.

A vehicle fire was reported at 6:27 p.m. at 97 SW 5 Ave. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered the grille of a pickup burning about 10 feet in front of the vehicle. The grille fire was extinguished. No damage to the vehicle was reported.

Two false alarms were reported at Fuller Industries LLC., 15 SW 40 Ave.


Great Bend Police

K-9 deployment was used at a traffic stop at 12:07 a.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Main St. 

A non-injury crash was reported at 6:47 a.m. at Forest Ave. and Jefferson St.

A aggravated burglary/aggravated battery was reported at 9:48 a.m. at 2111 Madison St.

A theft was reported at 10:39 a.m. at Walmart, 3503 10th St.

A two-vehicle non-injury crash was reported at 12:04 p.m. at Dillons, 4107 10th St.

A fraud was reported at 3:44 p.m. at Plains State Bank, 1000 Adams St.

A criminal damage was reported at 4:02 p.m. at Walmart.

A non-injury hit-and-run crash was reported at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, 2920 10th St.

A traffic stop resulted in a DUI arrest at 9:12 p.m. at the 1900 block of Main St. Randall Drees was arrested. 

 

Barton County Sheriff

A non-injury crash was reported at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday at E. U.S. 56 at mile marker 209.

A non-injury crash was reported at 905 NE 150 Road in Claflin.

A warrant arrest was executed at 11:11 at 23rd and Jackson Sts. A K-9 unit was deployed. A narcotics violation was reported at 11:49 p.m. at 23rd and Jackson Sts.
