Great Bend Fire/EMS

EMS made four ambulance runs Wednesday.

A fire truck was dispatched to the 2200 block of 28th St. when a smoke detector activated at 11:49 a.m. Wednesday. It was determined to be a malfunctioning alarm. After checking everything, the fire truck was called back.

At 9:14 p.m., a truck was dispatched to the 300 block of 3rd St., where firefighters examined the cause of a burning smell and excessive heat in a residence. No fire was found.


Great Bend Police

A sex offense was reported at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday. 

A debit card found left in the ATM machine at Credit Union of America, 4708 10th St., at 8:33 p.m. Wednesday was booked into evidence as found property.


Barton County Sheriff 

A non-injury crash was reported in the 200 block of East U.S. 56, Great Bend, at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday.
