Truck fire on 10th Street

Great Bend Fire Department responded to a fire in the engine compartment of a truck at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday in the McDonald's parking lot, 3307 10th St. The fire in truck, which was described as a passenger vehicle, was extinguished with no injuries reported.

Emergency Medical Service made nine ambulance runs Tuesday.


Great Bend Police Department

A criminal damage to property case was taken after a broken window was reported Tuesday at 2100 Harrison St.

A search warrant was executed at 9:54 a.m. at 206 Fruit St.

Officers impounded two vehicles parked in front of the Family Crisis Center at 1924 Broadway that had been red tagged earlier. Marshalls and Brent’s Towing picked up the vehicles.

A battery was reported at 4:17 p.m. at Great Bend Middle School, 1919 Harrison St.

Police responded to a domestic call at 7:35 p.m. at 1407 9th St. Gisela Chavez was arrested on a Great Bend Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:59 p.m. Tuesday when a vehicle driven by Richard Pflughoeft stuck a fuel pump at Love’s County Store, 1221 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:33 a.m. Wednesday at 1444 11th St.


Barton County Sheriff’s Office

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday at NW K-96 and NW 10 Road, Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:56 a.m. at North Washington Ave. and NW 25 Road.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 2:24 p.m. at the Barton County Detention Center, 1408 Kansas Ave.

A K-9 was deployed at 11:29 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of North Main Street in Hoisington.
